Bank details and checks stay on your device
Checks are created entirely in your web browser. The account and routing numbers, payees, amounts, memos and addresses you type are never transmitted to or stored on our servers.
If you tick “Remember my business and bank details”, or use Pro, that information is saved in your browser's local storage on that device only. Anyone with access to the device and browser profile can see it, so use a device you control. Untick the box, delete the data in Pro, or clear your browser data to remove it.
What we do collect
- Anonymous usage events: which page was viewed, whether a PDF was created or a button was clicked, the referring site and the approximate country. These events never contain form contents.
- Early-access list: if you join the Pro list, we store the email address and the check volume you pick, to tell you when Pro is available.
- Subscriptions: if you buy Pro, Stripe processes the payment. We receive your email, the subscription status and a customer ID, never your full card number.
- Standard server logs kept by our hosting provider, Cloudflare, for security and reliability.
- Analytics and advertising measurement: we use Google Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure visits and the same anonymous events. Google Analytics sets cookies and may be used to measure the results of our Google Ads campaigns. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
How we use it
To understand which features are useful, to provide Pro to subscribers and to contact people who asked for early access. We do not sell personal information. To leave the early-access list, email hello@checkwriter.app.
Third parties
Pages load fonts from Google Fonts and the PDF library from Cloudflare's cdnjs. These services receive standard technical request data (such as your IP address) when your browser downloads those files.
